As 2024 draws to a close, I feel enormous pride for what we have accomplished at The Zones of Regulation. We innovated, grew and connected as we stepped into our next chapter as an organization. I would like to share a snapshot of our journey and what’s ahead.
Innovation & Development
We began the year with a sprint to finalize the concepts in our new Digital Curriculum. With the hard work and dedication of so many, we were able to create interactive and engaging features, including videos and games, that bring The Zones content to life!
Research & Impact
We collaborated with the CAREI team at the University of Minnesota and Saint Paul Public Schools (SPPS), conducting a pilot study to understand the impact of The Zones of Regulation Digital Curriculum. The curriculum was used in several elementary classrooms while also piloted with individual teachers and therapists in the U.S. and abroad.
This fall, we shared evidence briefs highlighting the positive impact of The Zones, showing just how powerful the curriculum is for social and emotional development.
Connection & Celebration
We officially launched our Digital Curriculum in July. This second edition builds on our original print book. In addition we released redesigned Zones Posters and the print book Getting Into The Zones of Regulation.
August marked our first in-person workshop, The Zones Reimagined, at the University of Minnesota. Participants traveled from across the U.S. and Canada to learn and connect with us. Later that evening, we celebrated with our growing team and supporters, reflecting on the journey that brought us here. This served as a moment for me to reflect on my journey and recognize the hard work and dedication of all those who helped bring my vision to life!
Refining & Expanding Our Reach
We continue to refine our curriculum and trainings through ongoing feedback, evaluation and case studies, as well as our rewarding and ongoing partnership with Saint Paul Public Schools.
The Digital Curriculum has already been implemented in 40 countries, and over 8,000 educators and practitioners worldwide have joined us for Zones Training this year alone!
Looking Ahead to 2025
We’re excited to expand our offerings, including introducing new concepts and activities, offering a Spanish-translated version of the Bridges, and continuing our research and development efforts. We’re committed to growing with you and supporting the SEL needs of learners everywhere.
