Comprehensive Full-Day Training

You will learn all the fundamentals covered in the Basic Training, plus:
- Learn how regulation develops and underlying neurobiological components
- Discover how to set the tone and climate to support regulation
- Explore regulation tools and strategies with hands-on activities

Schoolwide Implementation Training
3 hours, 2.75 clock hours
This unique training session prepares schools and district teams to implement The Zones of Regulation’s social-emotional learning curriculum schoolwide.
You will learn:
- Ways to establish common schoolwide Zones of Regulation practices and systems
- Practices that can shift school climate from a behavior management lens to a proactive support lens
- The basics of creating a sustainable implementation plan customized for your school
- This training is not an introduction to The Zones of Regulation; attendees should have background knowledge of Zones concepts and curriculum from the Basic or Comprehensive Training prior to attending
Adolescent Adaptations Training
1 hour, 1.0 clock hour
The Zones of Regulation is proud to offer Adolescent Adaptations, a new extension training specifically for sharing The Zones with teens and tweens.
You will learn:
- Best practices and regulation tools geared toward this unique age group
- How to adapt The Zones language and resources for tweens and teens
- Implementation tips for secondary school settings
Zone Your Home: Parent/Caregiver Training
2 hour, 2.0 clock hours
This Zones of Regulation training session highlights the basics of using The Zones in your home.
You will learn:
- How to understand regulation and ways to support it
- A basic understanding of The Zones of Regulation
- Hands-on, easy-to-use strategies for using The Zones at home

Leah Kuypers MA. ED, OTR/L
Zones Creator
As the creator and author of The Zones of Regulation, Leah desires to teach others the skills and strategies needed to utilize the framework to foster regulation and emotional control. Her work has been enthusiastically received by hundreds of thousands of people around the world, with over 300,000 copies of The Zones of Regulation book having been sold. She is passionate about supporting others on their quest of helping our youth build the life-long skill of regulation.
Elizabeth Sautter M.A. CCC
Zones Collaborative Trainer
Elizabeth Sautter, M.A. CCC, is a licensed speech and language pathologist and social-emotional coach. She is the co-owner of Communication Works, a private practice offering speech, language, and social support in California. She is the author of Make Social and Emotional Learning Stick and developer of Make it Stick Parenting, an online course for parents of neurodivergent children (elizabethsautter.com). Elizabeth works closely with The Zones of Regulation team as a Collaborative Trainer and has co-authored The Zones of Regulation Storybook Series and games.
Emily Walz M.S. ED
Zones Director of Instruction and Trainer
Emily Walz is a licensed Special Education Teacher (M.S.Ed) with 15 years of teaching experience working with learners in New York City and the Minneapolis/St Paul metro area. As an Implementation Specialist, Emily consults with schools and districts across the US and abroad to successfully incorporate The Zones framework into their setting.
It is highly recommended that you have easy access to The Zones of Regulation book before registering for training. Questions about purchasing the book and other Zones printed materials should be directed to Social Thinking.
