Navigating the Zones Game & Advanced Pack
Navigating The Zones Game (age 8+) was created by Leah Kuypers, creator of The Zones of Regulation, along with Teri Rossman and Elizabeth Sautter. An interactive teaching tool designed to extend the curriculum, the game walks participants through the “Zones Pathway.” The Pathway is a visual, sequential, and concrete road map that helps structure learners’ thinking and processing about the problem-solving sequence that is at the center of self-regulation. You should have a strong working knowledge of the concepts and vocabulary in The Zones of Regulation curriculum to use this product successfully. Our new ecofriendly, streamlined game packaging has removed all plastic inserts. The more compact size not only reduces the toll on the environment and saves on shipping costs, but also requires less space for storage. All game parts and components remain the same.

The Road to Regulation Poster
The Zones of Regulation Pathway is a refined Zones of Regulation core concept and Signature Practice, used after learners are familiar with the Zones and have established their toolboxes. The Zones Pathway poster provides learners with scaffolding to apply their understanding of the four Zones and their related tools in real-time situations by walking through a process to notice the situation, identify feelings, and to make healthy decisions about managing them. The Zones of Regulation Pathway includes 5 concrete steps that learners and their co-regulators can follow: 1) Notice 2) Check-In 3) Decide 4) Regulate 5) Reflect.
The Zones of Regulation Tools Poster
This updated poster has additional content, a refreshed design, and new 4-color emotion illustrations with a diverse cast of characters! This durable, color-coded, 24” x 18” poster highlights and reinforces use of the four zones to categorize our feelings. This helpful visual tool is for use in the clinic, classroom, or home. A new “Possible Body Signals” section helps learners identify physical feelings associated with each zone and increases accessibility. This interactive visual includes a space for kids to add and discuss metacognitive strategies or tools to support regulation of each Zone.
Zones Check In Poster
The new Zones Check-In dry erase poster supports a core concept and Signature Practice that helps develop the self-awareness that is foundational for regulation. A Zones Check-In starts with mindfully pausing to check-in with our body signals, emotions, and Zones. These three areas are represented as a segment of the three-sided Zones Check-In graphic, and all segments includes a space for learners to write in responses. A reference key for common body signals, emotions, and the four Zones is included at the bottom of the poster for additional accessibility. Using this simple process helps learners integrate the brain and body before responding to the situation at hand.
STOP, OPT, and GO poster
With updated graphics and teaching, this durable, 18” x 24” STOP, OPT & GO poster supports the decision making that goes into Regulation while also addressing problem solving and group conflict resolution. First we pause (STOP) before we act, think about our OPTions and how they may work out, then use our GOal to decide on the best option.
This in-the-moment teaching tool is designed to help kids who struggle with impulse control and figuring out alternative solutions to conflicts. With space for kids to write and respond to questions or prompts at each stage, the poster guides learners through the STOP, OPT & GO process. It can also be used proactively to prepare learners to manage themselves when they encounter previously identified triggers. STOP, OPT & GO is a strategy that is taught as part of the Zones of Regulation curriculum.
Zones Triggers and Sparks poster
The updated Zones Triggers & Sparks poster helps explore events, situations, or sensations that affect feelings and regulation and cause learners to change Zones. Noticing our triggers and sparks helps us to be prepared for when they happen again so we can regulate and/or problem solve more easily. Brainstorm and keep track of your learners’ triggers and sparks with this updated poster. The dry-erase surface (use only dry-erase markers) makes this poster reusable in the home, clinic, or classroom.
