LEAH KUYPERS’ APPEARANCE ON THE NEURODIVERSITY PODCAST, ‘NAVIGATING THE EMOTIONAL LANDSCAPE’
MINNEAPOLIS, [March 18, 2025] — Last week, The Neurodiversity Podcast released its episode titled ‘Navigating the Emotional Landscape’. In this episode, host Emily Kircher-Morris welcomed The Zones of Regulation® creator and founder, Leah Kuypers for a conversation on neurodiversity and self-regulation skills.
Throughout the 34-minute conversation, Kuypers and Kircher-Morris discuss the importance of emotional awareness, applications of the Zones framework, and how it provides a common language for expressing feelings. The insightful conversation is grounded in similar shared experiences with both women having early careers in the education space.
Some kids learn how to read—that’s a developmental skill—with ease, and others need more support. Regulation works the same way,” shared Kuypers. “Some kids just naturally develop this skill set ahead of their peers, and others need more support and more instruction around this. One thing [to] take away is that we should never punish kids who can’t read or single them out on the chalkboard, as with the level system. But we do that all the time with kids who are divergent in their regulation abilities.
The Neurodiversity Podcast has more than 200 episodes, including Navigating the Emotional Landscape.
